Welcome to Ippudo, your go-to destination for authentic ramen located in the vibrant heart of Kuala Lumpur on Jalan Bukit Bintang. Known for its rich flavors and inviting atmosphere, Ippudo expertly marries tradition and modernity in every bowl served. This delightful ramen shop not only offers an extensive menu but also provides numerous amenities to ensure a comfortable dining experience.
As I dined at Ippudo, I was struck by the gastronomic diversity that reflects the heart of Japanese cuisine. I highly recommend starting with their signature Tonkotsu ramen, praised for its perfectly handcrafted noodles and rich, creamy pork broth. The option to customize noodle texture—from soft to very hard—adds a personal touch to your meal.
Beyond the classic offerings, the Karaka-men is a standout dish. This ramen, paired with a bold and spicy miso broth, is a wonderful testament to Ippudo's commitment to flavor. Don’t miss the pork bun, a soft steamed bun enveloping tender braised pork belly that dances across the palate, embodying the essence of comfort food.
My dining experience at Ippudo was truly elevated by the depth of flavors; each dish that graced my table told a story. The Kuro Ramen left an indelible mark, with its pork-based broth and thick, chewy noodles—exacting and satisfying. The acknowledgment of noodle texture shows a respect for culinary artistry that is often overlooked.
In conclusion, Ippudo is not just another ramen shop; it’s an experience waiting to unfold. The care in crafting each bowl, combined with the inviting ambiance, makes it a must-visit for anyone in Kuala Lumpur. So grab your friends, make a reservation, or simply pop in for a takeout treat. Your next delicious adventure awaits at Ippudo!
“ Clean restaurant and decent service. Ordered standard ramen and it was good, although a bit too salty. ”
“ Yummy ramen! We went in & were seated immediately. The ramen was delicious. Only complaint is that it's hot in there. The lights above the chairs are quite bright & hot. Plus the AC doesn't seem to be able to keep up. Otherwise, yummy ramen. ”
“ I came here on a Saturday evening, and surprisingly there was no line. I even had the whole bar to myself, awesome. I ordered the tan tan men this time, and my word, it was the best meal I've had in weeks. The broth was rich with just the right tinge of spiciness. The pork, egg, noodles, all done to perfection. I was a happy, happy man. This branch definitely lived up to the Ippudo name. ”
“ Having tried various Japanese ramen outlets, I have to say Ippudo Pavilion gave me the best impression. Their Tonkotsu ramen are perfectly handcrafted and served al dente. You have several texture options to choose from soft, normal, hard to very hard. I highly recommend the Karaka-men which is the ramen dipped in original Tonkotsu broth prepared with special spicy miso, cashew nuts and ground pork. The spiciness level range from original, level 1, level 2 up to level 3. This is one of their signature ramen and is my favourite. The pork bun side dish is very special and is absolutely a must try dish here. Soft and tender braised pork belly (char shu) pairs very well with the steamed bun. It is their best seller and an all time favourite. For dessert, the tasty Itachoko Monaka simply wraps up the entire delectable dining experience. ”
“ Ramen is one of my favorite things to eat. I enjoy a good bowl of complex broth that has been artfully nurtured for endless hours. It has been a while since I have had a bowl that makes my tongue tingle and my body dance. This place really does it. I first learned of Ippudo from the New York location but never had the pleasure of dining since there was always an hour plus wait. Luckily, there is no wait at this location because I probably would not have given it five stars otherwise. Definitely try it, but I cannot guarantee that you would love it, if you had to wait in a long line. During my visit to KL, I took advantage and dined here at least three times. Each time, I ordered a bowl of the Kuro Ramen which has a pork based broth and thick chewy noodles. What I love even more is that they ask for your preference of noodles texture - firm is the only way to go for me! This place is the real deal and has a deep respect for the art. ”
“ Ippudo is my boyfriends favorite ramen place. He loves the broth here because he says its unlike any other he's tasted. His favorite is usually the Karaka-men which is a spicier broth with miso and cashews while I prefer the Shiromaru Motoaji ramen which had the original tonkatsu broth which is creamier and less strong. Another good thing about Ipuudo is that you're allowed to choose the hardness of your noodles. My boyfriend likes his noodles hard where else I prefer my noodles soft. They are also known for their buns. If your like fatty pork then do try their Ippudo pork bun for melt-in-your-mouth pork. And if you're feeling adventurous, you can opt for the ebi katsu bun which is yummy crunchy prawns made to perfection. Bukuretsu tofu which is very much like ma po tofu with crunchy noodles (yee mee) inside but I find that the noodles are too little. Taste wise, very delicious with generous amount of mince pork. For dessert, I would recommend the Mochi ice-cream which is really yummy! Prices are on the expensive side but good ramen never comes cheap! ”
“ IPPUDO is one of the best ramen that I had in town! I really love SHIROMARO TAMAGO ramen. It is their original broth serve with ultra thin noodles, pork loin and salted soft-boiled egg. Indeed, you are able to choose your preferred hardness level of noodles. Personally, I would prefer the hard noodles as it is much crunchier and nice to chew. If you are not anti-sesame, it would taste much nicer if you add some sesame into the ramen before serving. I will also add some chill flakes before serving. :) The price is relatively expensive, but they do provide the lunch set, which only cost about RM29.90 for a set of ramen, side dish/dessert and a green tea. ”
“ You'll be greeted by the friendly staff echoing welcome in Japanese as soon as you step into Ippudo. I've tried plenty of ramen at other establishments around KL but none comes close to Ippudo's ramen. Served in a large bowl, take your pick from the various broths offered including a spicy broth served with springy noodles and tender slices of pork. I usually opt for the regular broth which is just as tasty on its own. At Ippudo, you'll have the option of choosing how springy you want your noodles to be. You'll also be able to request additional garlic or sesame oil to add more flavour into your ramen. You'll be surprised at how a few drops of sesame oil or pieces of garlic can instantly change the flavour in your ramen. Service is quick here and the staff are all well trained and informed as they are able to guide you through your ramen selection. Besides the ramen, a must order for me is the pork bun, a light fluffy bun with a tender piece of braised pork inside. It's akin to biting into a marshmellow that is juicy yet tender. Till today, Ippudo holds the top spot for ramen in KL for me. ”
“ As far as ramen goes, Ippudo is my favorite place to go. I've tried Ippudo in other countries before, so when they opened its first brunch in Pavilion, I couldnt be more thrilled. The eatery is a modern take of Japanese ramen store: clean layout, dim lighting, casual vibe. The menu is handy with a series of appetizers to start of with. However, it is the rame that makes us keep coming back for more. The thin noodles are tangy and fresh and a poached egg almost stealing the show. The broth is the highlight! It is fragrant, flavorful without overpowering. So light and subtle yet taste incredible! ”
